About This Issue

In this issue of the Homeless Voice, we reprinted the story, My Friend Named John. Johnny was one of the original clients of the shelter and made a huge impact on everyone who knew him, but especially on Sean. Many times when things got hard or seemed not worth it, Johnny inspired to Sean to keep going. The organization may not be around today had it not been for Johnny and his friendship with Sean.

Involuntarily Commit the Homeless During Hurricanes takes a look at the most recent chain of storms and the actions taken to remove the homeless from the street. Whether the decision was right or wrong in the moment, a proper plan of action is certainly needed for the future.
