Two Homeless Men Shot in Uptown Chicago
September 6: In what appear to be unrelated incidents, two homeless men were shot in a 24-hour span. Phillipi Larrnarri, 32, was shot in the head while sleeping on a bench early in the morning. Two men were seen fleeing the area, which is known to have gang activity. That night, 29-year-old James Lane, who lived in a shelter, was shot in the street. He was arguing with someone before he was shot. The shooter remains unknown in both cases, though police suspect the murders are unrelated.
